Do you remember back when you were in school, your teacher would write on the chalk board and you could still see the words even if it was erased?
When I became a Christian, I was taking a class about God's ultimate forgiveness for us through Jesus Christ. This is how I remember it being explained to me. Mind you, it takes me a while to learn and I have to have visuals to help me along.
Throughout our life, we sin. We gossip, we lie, we steal, some people murder others, commit adultery and so on and so forth. I think of it like a huge chalk board that God writes down every sin of mine on. Notice I said HUGE? I am NOT perfect, I sin everyday!
Well, when we ask for God's forgiveness, realizing that He sent His only son to die on the cross for my sins, and yours; it still blows my mind the sacrifice and love that all took on both parts.
God doesn't just erase our sins because you see (as pictured above), you can see the words, letters and remains of the word written on the chalk board.
God with His amazing power, DESTROYS the chalk board (as seen below in this picture)!
We are FREE! Does that mean we turn to a life of disgrace and sin? NO, the more you study the word and pray, God removes the temptation to sin. Like I said earlier, I am NOT perfect by any means. I fail God daily with my sins. But by His grace and mercy...I am forgiven!
